Efax review

Reasons you should NEVER use their service

This page was put up to give my personal Efax review. Normally, I don't bother to post reviews, but the customer service AND the actualy service offered was so terrible that I felt the need to comment.

The background: I needed to fax some transcripts to a company that I was interviewing with, and didn't feel like leaving my house just to make a fax. I simply googled around, saw Efax, figured I could give it a try for free, and planned on keeping an account if it worked out. I run a small business and have found myself needing to fax quite often lately.

I login to the service, and attempt to make a fax. Here are some serious complaints about the Efax service:

I don't know about you, but when using a service for a first time and sending a fax, I better damn well be able to see what they just sent my customer/job. No dice.

How they tried to SCAM me

From their policy, if you cancel your account within 7 days, you do not have to pay the monthly fee. I was immediately discouraged with the service, and used their online chat to cancel my service that same day. Below is a screenshot I took, because I never trust scam artists like these. Turns out I was right.

Fast forward to the next month - I receive a bill on the 5th for 12.95 - their typical monthly fee. I email them telling them about the situation, and even providing the screen shot in the email. 2 days pass. No reply from them. Finally, they reply that they have no records of my cancellation, but would cancel the account right then. They would not, however, refund my money.

At this point, I'm outraged. Not only have I shown proof of my cancellation, but they were rude in the email. At this point I wish I would have emailed a request for cancellation as well to further support my evidence.

I respond one more time in email, supporting my evidence even further with file dates, and the fact that I had the chat session at all, when they claimed none existed. I even mentioned that I would make a page giving them a bad review if no credit was issued. You can guess what happened. I got pissed, and wrote this Efax Review.

The reply came back the same - Sorry, no proof of cancellation. At this point I simply took the dispute up with my credit card, and supplied them with the screenshot that I had captured. I'd now like to thank Chase Bank for helping me out in this situation. They were able to reverse the charge in a prompt, manner. I'd also like to say that their PerfectCard is a GREAT credit card, offering 1% back on everything and 3% back on gas. You won't find many cards that good.

In short, stay away from Efax. They have poor service, and are scam artists. From the advice of a friend, I joined www.interfax.net. The service is fast, and their customer service is even better. They replied to an email question I had at 6pm within 15 minutes. Thank you interfax for being a decent reasonable company.

Efax - if you are reading this... I hope you learn a lesson from your shitty customer service. I wonder how many customers you will lose because you tried to screw over someone with search engine optimization experience.
